~ Cove Road ~
The Cove Fire Fighter's 5K Run, also called the FF5K, is scheduled for October 5, 2013. The race begins at the Cove Community Association, formerly the Cove Elementary School, in Tazewell County, VA.
~ Scenery along Cove Road ~
Starting at the old Cove school, the course goes north on Maiden Spring Road for approximately one-third mile, turning right onto Cove Road and going to the half way mark. Runners return to the Cove school to complete the run. Participants run on a country road beside fields with horses, sheep, cattle, alpacas and beautiful scenery.

The FFK is a benefit for the Cove Volunteer Fire Department and the Cove Community Association. We're the smallest fire department in the county and need new equipment and the Cove school needs a new roof.

A 1 Mile Fun Walk is available for those who wish something less strenuous, who are riding bicycles or are accompanied with children. Fun Walk registration is $
Competition between Tazewell VFD companies result in the winning fire company receiving a fire truck! The winning company will keep it for one year, run the next year's race and the truck will then go to the new winner.
